CHESS FOR DUMMIES

As you can see above is a chessboard. I am going to tell you which piece can move where.

As you can see that there are two rows. The top row are all the same pieces they are called “PAWNS“. When you are starting off and they are were they are now, you can move them up 1 space or 2 spaces but when those “PAWNS” have allready been moved up 1 or 2 spaces they can only keep moving up one space and they can only attack diagonally(to the left or right).

Now I will talk about the bottom row(I am going to tell you from the very left to the last right one).Okay so the very first one on the left is called a “CASTLE“(can you notice that on the board there are doubles of everything except the to middle ones). Well the castle can only move foward and backwards(it also attacks foward and backwards).

The next one to the right is called a “HORSE” it can move on any “L” shape (by that I mean it can move in a “L” shape which  has to move 2 to the left or right including the space it was on and 3 up including the space it was on and it could move in a back to front “L” shape ao a tilted “L” on its left or right).

“THE BISHOP”

(The 3rd one from the left & the 3rd last from the left)The Bishop moves and captures diagonally. One of the player’s Bishop’s moves on the white squares, the other on the black squares. The Bishop can move any number of squares in the same direction as long as they are vacant. It cannot jump another piece.

“THE QUEEN”
